![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I thought this book had strong pacing, and I was able to go through it pretty quickly. ![]() Not only was it an enjoyable story, but it also gave you tidbits of Korean culture vs. I haven’t read a lot of romance-driven novels, especially when they don’t have a fantasy element mixed in with them, but I am trying to branch out in what genres I read. They meet again in an unsuspecting place and have to choose between being with each other, and different events in their lives. The first thing I thought when I started to read XOXO by Axie Oh was that this book gave me some serious Grease vibes (a movie). If Jenny and Jaewoo date and it’s discovered, it could ruin both their careers (current and upcoming). The mysterious Jaewoo is actually a popular K-pop star who is also forbidden from dating. It isn’t until a few months later when Jenny travels to South Korea to help her mother take care of her grandmother while she also enrolls in an elite arts academy for a semester that she sees Jaewoo again. She and Jaewoo have a good short time together, but then he mysteriously disappears without a trace. Jenny is a cello prodigy all set to apply to a prestigous music college when she stumbles into a boy named Jaewoo in her uncle’s karaoke bar. ![]()
